The San Diego Trolley came to Santee over ten years ago with the orange line, and in 2005 the green line was introduced. The major difference is that riders in east county could go through mission and fashion valleys, San Diego State College, and other places along the path.

The only problem was that riders needing to get downtown had to transfer at the Old Town Station. The trek for east county riders to downtown just got a little easier.

Starting September 1, 2012, riders will be able to . The Metropolitan Transit System and San Diego Association of Governments designed an upgrade to the system costing a little over $700 million. While other upgrades are still going on, the green line extension is completed.

I was there for the celebration and to my surprise, Santee's showed up to provide refreshments. Phil Pace, owner of brought samples for everyone to enjoy. Thanks Phil and welcome to Santee.
