Oliver is about a year old, said her great aunt, and Hannah wants him to have a home, not to be sent to a shelter.

Hannah Anderson's family has found a home for a most unique cat.

Oliver, a cat Hannah cared for throughout her ordeal at the hands of abductor Jim DiMaggio, needed a home because she already has a cat, Puss Puss.

After putting a call out for cat lovers with a vacancy Wednesday, Oliver had a home by late afternoon.

Her grandparents watched Hannah's cat at their Santee home while the authorities mounted an extensive search for the missing Lakeside teen last week.

Hannah, 16, lost her mother, Christina Anderson, 44, and little brother Ethan, 8, allegedly to DiMaggio, before he took her on a long journey that ended in Idaho Saturday when an FBI agent shot him to death.

Oliver, said Christina Anderson's aunt, Jennifer Willis, is probably a year old and no one knows if he has had his shots or been neutered. The cat, she said had been kept at DiMaggio's cabin.

“She asked that I not put him in the pound but find him a great family,” Willis said in an email, of Hannah's wishes.

Willis continued:

“He's super friendly and loves to be held. Good for a loving family. He was great on her journey. She has had him with her since she was taken. He flew in a helicopter and FBI jet. He's really beautiful.”

Hannah posted on her ask.fm account Tuesday that she wanted to give away the cat and when asked why replied, “I don't want the memories. But he's a trooper.”

The El Capitan High School junior is also particular. When a person whose cat had died asked to take in Oliver, she wrote, “Maybe I just really want him to go to a good home he's been through a lot just like me.”
