James Ryder, Veteran and Volunteer for Santee Sheriff's and Fire Departments, Dies at 90

James J. Ryder, known as Jim to friends, died July 15 at his Santee home, according to UT San Diego. He was 90. 

The Army, Navy and Merchant Marine veteran of WWII and the Korean War never stopped his service, he volunteered with the Santee Sheriff's and Fire Department.

He was a native of Brooklyn, NY,  and was retired from Rohr Industries.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Ryder.

He will be interred at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery at 11 a.m. September 17.
