Judy Carol Ehlen, Friend of the Santee Library and Sheriff YANA Volunteer, Dies at 70

She was an active volunteer in the community.

Judy Carol Ehlen, a member of the Friends of the Santee Library and a Santee Sheriff Station YANA volunteer, passed away February 27 at age 70, according to Dignity Memorial.

She attended Concordia Teachers College, earned her teaching degree at Christ College Irvine and taught kindergarten at Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

In 1972 Judy moved to Santee with her husband and two children.

Judy was a long time member of Christ Lutheran Church and volunteered much of her time at the Christ Lutheran School.

She was involved in the community as a volunteer with the Santee Sheriff's Department YANA (You Are Never Alone) program, visiting and calling the elderly and lonely in Santee and Lakeside. She was also a volunteer at the Santee Friends of the Library bookstore.

Visitations will be March 7 from 4-7 p.m. at Conrad Lemon Grove Mortuary and at the Buck Wheeler Mortuary in Belvidere, Illinois on March 15. A funeral service will be at Church Lutheran Church, 7929 La Mesa Blvd, March 8 at 3:30 p.m.

Donations in memory of Judy Ehlen can be given to The Epilespy Foundation of San Diego County or Christ Lutheran Church Music Department.
