Mary Lou Laudner, El Capitan Journalism Teacher in 1960s, Dies at 88

Her husband, Delbert, passed away recently and both will be remembered at a memorial service Saturday.

Mary Lou Laudner, who was a English and Journalism Teacher at El Capitan High School in the 1960s, passed away on November 24, 2012 and her husband Delbert Laudner passed away on January 23, 2013. 

Delbert worked as an Operations Manager at Otay Water District and was elected for two terms on the Otay Water District Board. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II and flew 36 combat missions as a tail gunner over the Balkans and Germany. After being shot down in a B-17, he spent 10 months as a prisoner of war in Poland and Hungry, until his release at the war's end.

The Laudners will be remembered at a combined memorial at 10 a.m., Saturday, February 16, 2013, at the Conrad Lemon Grove Mortuary, 7387 Broadway, Lemon Grove, CA 91945.
