Longtime Santee resident Tomas Vargas passed away December 15 at age 83 and the of the Santee City Council was adjourned in his honor.
Vargas and his family were residents of Santee since 1972 and loyal member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church.
Tomas was succesful in life, beginning as a poor child in Mexico and building a new life for his family in the U.S.
Tomas Vargas was born on March 7, 1929 in Capilla de Guadalupe, Jalisco, Mexico to Candelario and Maria de Jesus Vargas.
