Does COX owe you money? Probably.

If you are like me, then you are sick and tired of getting taken advantage of on a monthly basis by these greedy, money hungry corporate companies...one being COX.

We own our home in east county San Diego and pay COX for high speed internet, a land line, and we USED to pay for cable. For TWO years we had constant cable issues; buffering, screen freezing, DVR's skipping, not FF, not recording shows, etc., etc., etc. We made more than 20 calls to troubleshoot, technicians replaced cables and DVR's, still issues. We finally caved and bought a $1,200 Smart TV & use Netflix & Hulu to watch our programs. Smartest thing we ever did. Saved us $80 a month.

While cable issues ended, internet issues started and continued for 6 months. No connection in the mornings, unable to stream & connect to TV. 6 more months of phone calls and troubleshooting. Last week a  COX technician came out. In the first 30 seconds he was here he pointed out the problem..."your modem (COX's equipment) is outdated. This model isn't even compatible with high speed internet (which is what we pay $50 a month for!), No wonder you're having issues." He replaced the modem, internet and connections are the best they have ever been.

So how long have I been paying for high speed internet & not receiving it???? We’ve had the same modem for 2 years, to my calculations with the difference of $15 a month for their lowest speed internet and what we were paying for…that’s $360 that we just OVER PAID to Cox.   I called COX to ask..."Why did not a SINGLE representative mention that I needed to upgrade equipment? All the phone calls and wasted time troubleshooting? Everyone just forgot to mention I might need to upgrade equipment???"After all, it is THEIR equipment causing all our issues, so how can they explain 2 years of horrible connection and service?
COX: "It is the customer's responsibility to ask for upgrades, we do not notify our customers if they need to upgrade their equipment."

I was furious. And you should be too if you are a COX customer. After I had to explain to the poor girl that was just obviously reading from a prompt...that what COX did is deceitful, dishonest and thievery, she put me on hold and responded with a $75.00 credit. She explained that since COX had only "upgraded" their servers in October, I was only eligible for a refund beginning at that time.

I can’t be the only one who has had this experience. How many customers are paying for something they are not receiving? I would call COX today and ask if you have their newest equipment…then ask for your refund!
