Kathy St. Onge of Blue Thong Society Voted Santee Person of the Year 2012

She leads a group of philanthropic women who give back to the community and have fun while doing it.

Kathy St. Onge, director of the Santee Chapter of the Blue Thong Society, was voted as Santee "person of the year" for 2012 in a recent poll on Santee Patch.

The Blue Thong Society is a group of philanthropic women who give back to the community and have fun while doing it. They tend to remain humble and behind the scenes in doing work with Santee Santa's, the City of Santee, Santee Food Bank, Edgemoor Hospital, American Red Cross, Burn Institute of San Diego and many other organizations.

St. Onge described the group in an announcement calling for new members:

"We are a unique womenʼs organization that connects, inspires and mobilizes women to make a difference in their communities and around the globe. Weʼre modern, confident, professional and philanthropic- we connect socially, but with purpose and intent to make the world a better place."

Nominations for the "person of the year" were taken throughout December and the poll ran the final week of the month. St. Onge received 32 percent of the vote, and Sam Modica, Secretary of Santee Santas and a well known figure in the Santee philanthropy community came in a close second in the poll.
