Poll: Who Is Getting Your Vote in 50th Congressional District Race?

Incumbent Duncan D. Hunter is challenged by Libertarian, Tea Party member and two Democrats.

A week from now, Ramona and Santee residents will help decide who will challenge Rep. Duncan D. Hunter in the 50th Congressional District. The Republican incumbent faces poorly financed candidates from the left and right.  But one will emerge as his November rival under the new top-two primary system. Who is getting your support June 5? Tell us why in the comments.

David, it's basic economics. Inflation is caused by printing money. Congress has the sole duty to print money. Therefore, Congress has the ability and responsibility to control inflation. To remove inflation and say everything's fine, when our food/energy prices have doubled throws the lower/middle class and those on fixed incomes right under the bus.

Terri - Inflation is simply a rise in the average price of goods and services in the macroeconomy. Which particular goods and services depends on the measure we are examining. Consumer price inflation is the one usually in the news, and it takes a weighted average of various items purchased by the typical household (the list being determined by survey and then updated periodically). This does not happen by magic. It takes someone, somewhere making a conscious choice to charge more for the good or service they sell. No household in my neighborhood, for example, buys barrels of oil; and yet when they become more expensive that sends a ripple throughout all related products. In the end, consumer prices jump as well causing inflation. Congress has nothing to do with it but the Government does measure it and keep the records.

They are manipulating the CPI by removing food/energy/mortages. They removed the 'volitile' items. Inflation is caused by a few factors, but in the case of our inflation, and most inflations recently in other countries, it is due to the printing of money, which is controlled by Congress. When a country prints money to pay their bills, it causes inflation. Pls look at the Germany inflation here: http://www.joelscoins.com/exhibger2.htm In the case of the usa, they are not only printing money 24/7, they are borrowing it. Borrowing money creates another problem, and that is typically a hyperinflation wipes out all debt within a country, but NOT the debt owed to other countries.

Terri - I will have to agree to disagree with you. Your link is regarding a war ravaged Germany. The gold bars in Ft. Knox are real assests owned by the Govt. We really do have more to back up our currency than just paper. And again it is not Congress who is responsible for inflation.

I understand Mary. I find the left/right both have opposite propaganda to sift through, so it keeps us dividing. The last audit done on the gold you mentioned was in 1954 (I think, would like more documents to view, but do not have time today to nail for sure the date). http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig11/weber-c1.1.1.html We did manage to get a partial audit of the fed reserve banks and found 16 trillion in undisclosed loans. http://www.newmediajournal.us/indx.php/item/2345 I have noticed we choose to find a reason to dismiss research and data. A good example is I hear we are not like russia and cannot fall economically, because they are communist, rather than look at our similarities, we are both world powers. As far a being war ravaged, after all these years in war, I would consider us that. The burden upon us financially is great, as seen by all the secret loans. We owe a lot to foreign powers, therefore it is prudent to wonder if we were not forced to make those loans. Personally, I do not see left/right. I'd much rather compare data, including it all to get the big picture, the one not seen by the media. By the way, I loved your court data. As I say often, common knowledge (and I would argue definitions of words) from one side is diff in the other, so we do need to work together if we are to seek the truth. It's hard to come up with viable solutions without the truth.
