'Sheeple Herder' and 'Santee Citizen' Mentioned in Mayoral Dispatch

Looking through my notes from last week's Santee City Council meeting I notice I forgot to mention something curious the Mayor said. He called out two commenters on Santee Patch, and whatever it means, it shows the Mayor is reading your comments on this site.

During discussion of the extra costs associated with the storm drain project at the intersection of Magnolia Avenue and Cuyamaca Street, Mayor Randy Voepel mentioned that the comment board on a story on Santee Patch was active on the subject.

I think this comment by "Sheeple Herder" may have been what got the Mayor going:

"And how do you ask will this all be paid for? King Vopel will raise taxes on his loyal surfs in his kingdom of La Jolla east."

Voepel ended discussion on the storm drain matter with this statement:

"In previous centuries there were no medals given in war, they simply mentioned people in dispatches. Tell 'Sheeple Herder' and 'Santee Citizen' that they were mentioned in dispatches tonight."

I would say I'm flattered but, I doubt it was with the best of intentions....

Sheeple Herder and Santee Citizen add greatly to these Patch comments. I appreciate Sheeple's fun sarcasm and Santee Citizens constructive concerns for out Burg. Salute! Randy

Wow, I can actually say I am humbled, thank you! I am glad that you do read the comments. I do have a heart/soul contrary to popular belief...

Great to see this interaction! Thanks for using Santee Patch as the digital town square it's meant to be.

Too funny to read. Haven't seen Mayor Randy out and about for awhile. Hope the Mrs. is okay. Awesome, Sheeple herder
