58 Arrested in East County Warrant Sweep

A in East County San Diego Saturday cleared 82 warrants and resulted in 58 arrests, according to the .

The incorporated areas of El Cajon, La Mesa and Santee were targeted, along with the unincorporated areas of Alpine, El Cajon and Lakeside.

"This was a successful warrant sweep. Warrant checks are usually done on a daily basis, but doing these over the weekend makes it easier to find people,'' Lt. David Brown said.

The sheriff's department increased efforts to apprehend wanted suspects over the past months, targeting outstanding warrants, according to Ross.

Deputies urge people with outstanding warrants to turn themselves in to any one of the sheriff's court facilities during regular business days.
