Armed Felon on the Run, Escapes Sheriff's Stakeout in El Cajon

Authorities recovered firearms and evidence implicating the suspect in a number of commercial and residential burglaries.

A 32-year-old felon suspected in a string of burglaries eluded authorities Thursday morning and is on the run, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

Detectives say Lance Jeremy Rodgers is armed and dangerous. Rodgers was able to flee from a home on the 1500 block of Fargo Avenue in El Cajon, which was under surveillance, about 7 a.m. Thursday. 

According to the sheriff's department, a search of the home uncovered firearms and evidence implicating Rodgers in a number of commercial and residential burglaries. Rodgers is wanted on charges of being a felon in possession of firearms.

Investigators say that if Rodgers is seen, he should not be approached. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact authorities. There is a reward of up to $1,000 being offered by Crime Stoppers. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
