Arrests Made in Alleged Baseball Bat Beating

Attempted murder suspect Andre Dickerson, 20, of Temecula is being held in lieu of $1 million bail in connection with the beating of a man in a Temecula park. A 15-year-old girl is also in custody.

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the recent beating of a man at a Temecula park, police said Saturday.

The 20-year-old victim reportedly suffered life-threatening injuries when he was allegedly beaten with a baseball bat the night of Jan. 13 at Kent Hintergardt Memorial Park, 45125 Via Del Coronado in Temecula.

The victim was recovering from his injuries after being admitted to the emergency room at Rancho Springs Medical Center in Murrieta, police said in a previous news release.

Based on information gathered from the victim, police said the man had agreed to meet a 15-year-old girl at the park.

"When he arrived he met the 15-year-old and she advised him to walk over the restrooms," Temecula police Lt. Doug McGrew said in a written update Saturday. "The victim walked over to the restrooms and he was assaulted by a black male adult with a baseball bat."

A report was taken by Temecula patrol officers, then sent to Southwest Station investigators, according to the lieutenant.

Their investigation led them to the 15-year-old girl, he said. After obtaining a search warrant, investigators went to the girl's Temecula home.

"The investigators were able to recover the baseball bat used in the assault as well as her cellphone which had pictures of the person who actually carried out the assault," McGrew said.

On Friday, the girl, whose name was not provided because she is a minor, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Andre Dickerson, 20, of Temecula, was also taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder.

Dickerson was being held at Southwest Detention Center in lieu of $1 million bail, according to sheriff's jail records.

McGrew said the case was still ongoing; anyone with information was asked to call Investigator David Gorlicki at 951-696-3000.

Oh Jesus Christ... lamest fantasy EVER: "Only God will determine everyone's fate."

LBV: How rude! You cannot be so openly derogatory about people's beliefs and expect them to not get aggressive and fight back. Even more so, how can you expect people to listen to and actually hear your opinion when you won't afford them the same courtesy?

Hi Kyle. If I'm correct, you're fairly new to The Patch. (Welcome!) I've been on here awhile (a couple of years, as I recall), so there are regulars on here who probably have a better feel for who I am and what I believe. With time, I hope that you and I can get to know each other better. (From what few comments I've seen you post, I get the impression that you and I are more alike than disalike.) Now, to address your point... Yes, my comment was rude. And, yes, my comment was openly derogatory about people's beliefs. I meant it to be. And as you so insightfully ask, "...how can you expect people to listen to and actually hear your opinion when you won't afford them the same courtesy?" Rina D and The Truth weren't sharing their opinions. They matter-of-factly stated what they believe is true... that according to their interpretation of Judeo/Christian/Muslim mythology, God will punish the bad and reward the good in the afterlife. Personally I find it a lubricious cult-like belief. So since they felt the righteous privilege to tell me what they believe is true, I felt the same righteous privilege to tell them I think they're wrong.

Kyle, if you've been reading the thread here, you will notice people commenting about "how do we know she was 15, maybe she lied about her age" that is the reason I gave my response here, is that not clear enough? There was/is only one female in this incident, not that difficult to comprehend what I am stating.

Something is not right here, I was told by the editor that as of two days ago ALL comments were going to be screened for validity, and relevance to topic, as well as derogatory remarks (personal) to others. I don't see this happening here Toni. If this is the case I will probably be leaving Patch entirely as I have better things to do with my time than waste it defending MY opinions and having others slam me when they dont even know me. This forum needs regulation otherwise its basically worthless, too many ignorant people with loud mouths on here, not naming names mind you.
