Authorities Looking for Missing Man in East County

Missing since Sunday afternoon, the 67 year old may be suicidal.

deputies and the CHP continue to be on the lookout for a potentially suicidal missing man in East County Monday.

Richard Walter Anderson, 67, was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer. He was last seen on Prospect Avenue near Cuyamaca Street on Sunday at about 11:20 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.

Anderson was threatening to commit suicide and may be armed.

Sheriff's deputies have issued a county-wide missing person report. They called local hospitals and searched places that Anderson is known to visit, including the rural areas near Jacumba and , a Sheriff's deputy said.

He is described as blond with hazel eyes, weighing 150 pound about 5'8" tall.
