Leask, in addition to being assigned as a twenty-four hour responding Fire Captain, adds value to the Department through his assignment as a Shift Training Captain. This responsibility includes training new firefighters, making recommendations for department wide training activities, and providing instruction in confined space and trench rescue. His recent training efforts resulted in providing all three shifts of the Santee Fire Department with annual compliance training in confined space rescues.
"Captain Leask is a dedicated professional and strives to improve his skills while helping mentor those individuals with a desire to improve," said Santee Fire Chief Robert Leigh. "David has a strong, humble work and we are fortunate to have Captain Leask as a member of the Santee Fire Department."
