Deputies Search For Suspect in Lakeside Shooting

Deputies are looking for a suspected gunman involved in a Lakeside shooting Wednesday morning.

Sheriff's deputies are searching for a man suspected of a shooting in Lakeside on Wednesday morning.

The suspect is identified as Steven Ritter, 21—a white male, 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing 160 pounds with a shaved head. A Sheriff's Department spokeswoman said Ritter could possibly still be armed with a revolver described as silver with a black handle. He was described as wearing Dickies shorts and a black T-shirt with the words, "Deny Everything," written on it.

The shooting at an apartment complex in the 12000 block of Mapleview Street was reported about 6:30 a.m., said San Diego County sheriff's Lt. Andrea Arreola.

According to a Heartland fire dispatcher, paramedics transported one person from the scene to Sharp Memorial Hospital, according to reports the victim suffered a shot to the head.
