Drunk drivers and traffic violators – beware. Santee deputies will looking for you Friday evening and early Saturday.
A DUI/Driver's License checkpoint will be in place in an undisclosed Santee location from 8 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.
All vehicles, according to a sheriff's news release, are subject to search.
“Our objective is to send a clear message to those who are considering driving a motor vehicle after consuming alcohol and/or drugs,” officials said in the release.
They also encouraged the public call 911 if they see someone they believe could be driving drunk.
The checkpoint is supported by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, via the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
