DUI Checkpoint in Santee to Take Place Friday-Saturday

So don't drink to excess, but if you're planning for a big night on the town have a designated driver.

Drunk drivers and traffic violators – beware. Santee deputies will looking for you Friday evening and early Saturday.

A DUI/Driver's License checkpoint will be in place in an undisclosed Santee location from 8 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. 

All vehicles, according to a sheriff's news release, are subject to search.

“Our objective is to send a clear message to those who are considering driving a motor vehicle after consuming alcohol and/or drugs,” officials said in the release. 

They also encouraged the public call 911 if they see someone they believe could be driving drunk.

The checkpoint is supported by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, via the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
