DUI Checkpoint in Santee Friday Night

The will be participating in a "Drunk Driving: Over the Limit, Under Arrest" drunk driving campaign in Santee Friday night, which includes a .

The purpose of the campaign is to primarily target , but also those under the influence of drugs and other driving offenses.

"All too often, members of our community are senselessly on local roadways by impaired drivers," the Sheriff's press release said. "A DUI checkpoint is a proven, effective method for enforcement and education."

It has not been reported where the DUI checkpoint will be set up, but have usually been along Mission Gorge Road.

The Sheriff's Department encourages the public to help by calling 9‐1‐1 if they see a suspected impaired driver. This campaign was made possible by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
