A Hell's Angle clubhouse in El Cajon was served a search warrant by and agents in a pred-dawn raid Wednesday, but no one was found inside.
The raid, led by the DEA, was a specific search for about a dozen individuals associated with the motorcycle club, DEA Special Agent Amy Roderick said.
She said more raids are possible as they continue the search for these individuals with a violent criminal history.
Neighbors of the clubhouse reported hearing explosions in the area during the raid. Police now say they sounds were diversionary flash-bang grenades set off as agents entered the clubhouse.
The clubhouse, located off of El Cajon Boulevard and Johnson Avenue, was searched before dawn, according to El Cajon police Lt. Randy Soulard.
Soulard declined further comment, and the El Cajon Police Department isn't releasing much information on the raid, saying the DEA is taking the lead on the case.
