Firefighters Battle Lakeside House Fire for an Hour, Extinguish Burning Motor Home

Lakeside firefighters took care of a mobile home fire Tuesday and house fire Wednesday morning.

House Fire

Crews battled a house fire in Lakeside early Wednesday but no one was hurt.

The noninjury fire at 12188 Los Amigos Way was reported at 4:24 a.m., according to a Heartland fire dispatcher.

It took firefighters awhile to get the blaze under control because they had to knock down a chimney but the fire was mostly out about an hour after it started, he said.

It was unclear how many, if any, residents were displaced.

The cause was under investigation.

Mobile Home Fire

Lakeside firefighters extinguished a mobile home fire Tuesday afternoon that shot a column of black smoke into the air near the corner of Maine Ave. and Laurel St, according to the Lakeside Fire District Blog.

Three fire units were dispatched to fight the fire that engulfed a small mobile home parked on the street and scorched a utility pole and fence nearby. The fire, apparently set by the mobile home's engine, caused no injuries, didn't spread to other structures, but destroyed the mobile home.
