Four Arrested at Santee DUI Checkpoint

Deputies also issued three citations during Friday night's checkpoint.

Sheriff's deputies arrested four people during a DUI checkpoint Friday night.

Deputies at the checkpoint, which was held from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. in the City of Santee, contacted 860 vehicles of the 930 vehicles that went through the checkpoint. Field sobriety tests were given to four drivers, and two were arrested, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies also arrested two other people for non-DUI charges and issued three citations. The specific location of the checkpoint was not released.

A grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety funded the program.
