Police in El Cajon seek the public's help in the search for a man who broke into an El Cajon pharmacy last month.

Police in El Cajon seeks the public's help Friday in the search for a man who broke into an El Cajon pharmacy last month and got away with powerful painkillers.

The robber smashed a lobby window to gain entry to an office building at 250 Travelodge Dr. about 8:30 p.m. Aug. 18, then smashed a second window to get into the Kaiser Pharmacy, according to El Cajon police Detective Steve Paz. He then jumped over the countertop and began rummaging through the medication shelf, from where he took an unknown amount of Oxycodone, Paz said.

The suspect was caught on surveillance video as he jumped back over the counter and fled, Paz said. Police believe the same man may be involved in more than one Kaiser Pharmacy burglary.
