Injured Woman Airlifted From Cowles Mountain

An injured hiker was swiftly airlifted to safety over the weekend.

An emergency airlift was performed on on Sunday for a 24-year-old woman who injured her leg while hiking up the main trail, a San Diego Fire Rescue dispatcher said.

Reports of a woman in a light blue top with an injured leg who was hiking up Cowles Mountain in Mission Trails Regional Park were received by emergency operators around 4 p.m.

The woman was found and airlifted to a hospital within an hour of the call.
