Lakeside Home Burns for Nearly an Hour
The house fire could be seen from I-8 on Saturday.
A house in Lakeside caught fire and burned for about 50 minutes Saturday, firefighters said.
The fire was reported about 10:30 a.m. at a residence on Julian Avenue near Los Coches Road, according to Heartland Fire & Rescue and the California Highway Patrol.
Fire crews contained the blaze to one room and it was knocked down at 11:18 a.m., a Heartland dispatcher said.

No injuries were reported, the dispatcher said.
An estimate of damage was not available and the cause remained under investigation, according to Heartland Fire & Rescue.

Julian Avenue remained closed in the area, the CHP reported. The smoke was visible from nearby Interstate 8, east of El Cajon.
