A May 12 trial date has set for Lymarie Rodriguez, who's accused of stabbing an acquaintance while trying to rob him at his East County home.

Rodriguez allegedly attacked the man in the 1600 block of Buckeye Drive in El Cajon on July 11, according to police.

Patrol officers responding to a report of a disturbance at the house found the victim suffering from severe wounds, Lt. Frank La Haye said.

Rodriguez was treated at a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries suffered in the alleged assault. Upon her release from medical care, she was booked into Las Colinas women's jail in Santee on suspicion of attempted murder.
