Motorcyclist Injured While Evading Law Enforcement in Santee

Francisco Roblero, of Whittier, was admitted into the hospital but upon his release was to be booked into the San Diego County Jail for felony evading peace officers.

A motorcyclist was injured while trying to flee San Diego sheriff's deputies in Santee, a sergeant said today.

Deputies tried to pull over the motorcyclist on westbound Mission Gorge Road for a traffic violation at 5 p.m., said sheriff's Sgt. Dave Martinez.

"The motorcyclist sped away, and then crashed into a SDMTS (San Diego Metropolitan Trolley System) Trolley on the green line at the intersection of Mission Gorge Road and Cuyamaca Street," Martinez said.

"The motorcyclist was injured and transported to the hospital for medical treatment and observation," the sergeant said. No one else was injured. The motorcycle sustained major damage, Martinez said.

The motorcyclist, identified as 38-year-old Francisco Roblero of Whittier, was admitted into the hospital but upon his release was to be booked into the San Diego County Jail for felony evading peace officers, the sergeant said.

The crash was under investigation by traffic investigators from the Santee Station, Martinez said.
