Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Santee Crash

A rider with a blood-alcohol level at the legal limit runs into a parked truck.

A motorcyclist is in the hospital with serious injuries after running into a parked pickup truck in Santee on Tuesday.

At about 4:50 p.m. the biker was riding down Carlton Oaks Drive when he drifted into eastbound lanes near Oakburne Road, struck the truck, was thrown from his bike and crashed into the front left corner, striking his head on the windshield, said San Diego County sheriff's Sgt. Craig Johnson.

He was taken to taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital for major injuries to his sternum, spine and pelvis.

A breathe test at the scene showed the rider had a blood-alcohol just at the legal limit for driving in California, .08.
