Lakeside Elementary School Goes Into Lockdown, No Threat Found

Sheriff Deputies and the ASTREA helicopter searched for a man near Lemon Crest Elementary, but found no one with a weapon.

Shortly after 11 a.m. school officials brought the students inside and called the Sheriff's Department to report what the children saw, according to a UT San Diego report. The school went on lockdown around 11:30 a.m. and stayed in that state for about an hour, until the Sheriff's Department cleared the school of any threat.

Sheriff Deputies and the searched for the man, but found no one with a weapon. A nearby home was surrounded and the occupants were ordered out and questioned, according to the UT report.
