Off-Duty Santee Sheriff's Deputy Involved in Motorcycle Crash

A local deputy receives minor injuries in an accident on the way to work.

The reports that an off-duty deputy was involved in a motorcycle crash Wednesday morning at Mission Gorge Road and Tamberly Lane.

The accident occurred at 7:24 a.m. in his personal motorcycle, as he was going to work and no other vehicles were involved.

According to the Sheriff's Department, he slid on a patch in the road and went down while turning west onto Mission Gorge Road.

The deputy was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, and his duty weapon was found and secured.

"Traffic deputies from the Santee Sheriff’s Station will be conducting an investigation," said Public Affairs Officer Melissa Aquino.
