Officer Found Missing Santee Boy Sleeping on a Downtown Sidewalk

10News interviews the officer that found the missing 12-year-old boy on Tuesday.

10News recently aired an interview with Officer Robert Glenn, who found a missing 12-year-old boy from Santee sleeping on a sidewalk near Lindbergh Field Tuesday night.

Eric Alexander Cheyssial was reported missing Tuesday, last seen walking home from Pride Academy around 2 p.m., and found safe about 20 miles from home by Harbor Police around 11 p.m., after hours of searching by police and search and rescue teams.

Eric was considered a missing person at risk because of his age.

10News reported that Eric's mother called Glenn an angel when thanking him for finding her son. Glenn told 10News that he knew something was wrong when he didn't see any bedding under the kid sleeping on the sidewalk.

No further information has been disclosed about how or why Eric traveled so far on his own.
