Police Chase From La Jolla to Santee Ends With Spike Strip Near West Hills

After traveling at speeds up to 120 miles per hour the chase ended on Mast Boulevard with guns drawn.

San Diego Police chased a car at speeds up to 120 miles per hour from La Jolla to Santee early Friday morning, ending with guns drawn near West Hills High School, according to a report by CBS News 8.

The pursuit began around 3 a.m. when police found a stolen car in La Jolla and the driver failed to stop. The chase went from I-5 to SR-52 and then onto Mast Boulevard, where Sheriff's officers laid spike strips to damage the tires.

News 8 has identified the suspect, 22-year-old Andre Montoya of San Diego. He was taken into custody after a brief foot chase.
