Prescribed Burn Means Smoke in the Sky Over East County

You may see signs of the burn between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

State firefighters were scheduled to burn about 180 acres of brush in the East County early Tuesday, near the rural community of Jamul.

The prescribed burn will take place in the area of the Rancho Jamul Ecological Reserve between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., according to Cal Fire public affairs Capt. Mike Mohler.

Smoke will be visible in many areas of the county, he said.
