A crash on southbound state Route 125 sent at least one person to the hospital and blocked traffic Sunday.
The crash happened about 1:20 p.m. just south of Navajo Road when a vehicle swerved across four lanes and overturned in the middle lanes, a California Highway Patrol dispatcher said.
Traffic on the freeway was backed up as the vehicle blocked the two middle lanes. Motorists were only able to pass in the left-most lane, the dispatcher said. The La Mesa Police Department also shut down the onramp from Navajo Road to southbound 125.
One person was seen laying near the center divide soon after the accident, he said.
The dispatcher did not know how many people were injured but said that at least one person was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital.
