Santee Crime: Nightly Auto Part Thefts, SD Christian College Vandalized

I counted nine more reports of vehicle part thefts in town the last week, many of the reports containing two or more counts of stolen property. Click here for more info about at least 30 similar reports over the last month.

Santee Sheriff's Captain Lisa Miller said last week that the department is well aware of the spree, mostly batteries and catalytic converters from RVs. She said it's typical this time of year (though it seems heavier than I've seen before). As far as prevention, she said take everything inside that's not locked or bolted down.

Vehicular burglary- 9200 block Mast Blvd- $300.

Petty theft of auto parts- 9400 block Pike Rd.

DUI- 9600 block Mission Gorge Rd- 21-year-old male booked.

Nov. 15
Theft by access card- 1500 block Graves Ave- $168.

Petty theft of auto parts-10200 block Bell Gardens Dr- $500.

Petty theft of auto parts- 10000 block Stanley Ct- $500.

Residential burglary- 10400 block Braverman Dr- Metal stolen valued at $200.

Nov. 16
Vandalism- Ranch House Restaurant and Santee Discount Market, 1500 block Woodside Ave- combined damage valued at $1,400. 

Petty theft of auto parts- 10000 block Woodrose Ave- $80.

Vandalism and petty theft of auto parts- 9000 block Les Rd- valued at $450.

Rape, victim unconscious or asleep.

Nov. 17
Grand theft from vehicle- 500 block Park Center Dr- purse and contents valued at $1,000.

Shoplifting- Vons- 30-year-old male booked for taking $120 of food.

Vandalism- 9900 block Sadie St- car window smashed.

Nov. 18
Commercial burglary and vandalism- San Diego Christian College, 200 block Riverview Pkwy- window smashed, metal valued at $3,500 stolen.

Battery with serious injury- 9000 block Prospect Ave- 29-year-old male found with broken bones and teeth.

False impersonation, possession of stolen property- 24-year-old female and male booked.

Stolen license plate- 1000 block Beck Dr.

Petty theft- 9300 block Lake Hill Rd- $95.

Vehicular burglary- 9800 block Medina- valued at $300.

Vehicular burglary- 10800 block Woodside Ave- valued at $2,000.

Petty theft from vehicle- 10200 block Princess Joann Rd- valued at $120.

Petty theft of auto parts- 9300 block Pennywood Rd- two counts valued at $160.
