Santee Crime Report: Car Burglaries Galore

The following information was provided by the Santee Sheriff's Department for March. 28 - April 2. The defendants have not been convicted of a crime.

Santee Patch has started publishing a Daily Crime Report, a less detailed list of alleged Santee offenders, the Weekly Report focuses on incidents of interest with detailed reports.

Incidents of interest:

• At least four vehicle burglaries were reported in and around the 11000 block of north Woodside Avenue on the morning of March 28, according to reports at the Santee station of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

A 41-year-old man reported the loss of a stereo and other items valued at more than $300. Another vehicle break-in was reported at about the same time in the same block. In that case, the victim reported the loss of a computer, tools and a watch valued with a total value of more than $3,000. A construction worker employee in the same area reported the loss of tools valued at $8,000. A 41-year-old male victim reported the theft of tools, a stereo and other items valued at more than $2,300. No suspect information was reported.

• Two men were detained following  a traffic stop at the intersection of Mast Boulevard and Cambury Drive on the afternoon of March 22.

Jason Middaugh, 32, was booked into the County Jail in downtown San Diego on an
outstanding misdemeanor warrant and driving on a suspected license. Reynaldo Mestre, 36, was cited and released on suspicion of possessing burglary tools and controlled substances without a prescription.

• Mathew Wittmeier, 23, was arrested on the evening of March 25 on a felony
allegation of possessing  a controlled substance. The arrest was reported in the 9300 block of Dempster Drive. He was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego.

• A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia in the 9900 block of Halberns Boulevard on the evening of March 25. In addition, Jonathan Shryock was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego on suspicion of possessing a switch-blade knife. Both allegations are misdemeanors, according to the report.

• Two people were arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary at the in the 9400 block of Mission Gorge Road on the evening of March 26. The suspects, identified as Hans Sarda, 19, and Angela Schroeder, 18, were both arrested on suspicion of burglary and conspiracy. Sarda was booked into the County Jail in downtown San Diego. Schroeder was booked into the Las Colinas women's jail in Santee. Clothing and other miscellaneous items were reportedly recovered in the case, valued at more than $580.

• A vehicle was reported stolen in the 9300 block of Pike Road on the evening of March 26. The pickup, described as blue and white in color, was valued at $4,000. No suspect information was reported.

• A vehicle was vandalized in the 10000 block of Palm Glen Drive during the morning hours of  March 27. The victim reported $5,000 in damage to a black, four-door sedan, according to a report. No suspect information was listed.

• Iron Horse Grading reported a burglary in the 9300 block of Prospect Avenue on the morning of March 28. The company valued the "power actuated tool" at $3,000. No suspect information was reported.

• A vehicle burglary was reported in the 11000 block of Blue Sky Ranch Road on the morning of March 28. The victim reported the theft of keys and electronic equipment valued at more than $1,000. No suspect information was listed.

• Two juveniles were arrested after a citizen reported a  trespass in the 10000 block of Woodglen Vista Drive on the afternoon of March 28. The juveniles' names were not released. They were detained on suspicion of misdemeanor loitering  before being released a short time later.

• A fraud report was filed by the Best Western Motel in the 10000 block of Woodside Avenue  on the morning of March 29. The company reported the theft of $4,000 worth of services over a two-month period beginning Jan. 10. No suspect information was listed.

• Two women were arrested after being suspected of possessing stolen property in the 8700 block of Rhodes Court on the evening of March 29. The possessions, described as two computers and a bag valued at more than $1,900, were allegedly taken from a motor vehicle, according to a report. The suspects, described as Mallory Nieber, 24, and Cassandra Poster, 29, were booked into the women's jail on felony suspicion of conspiracy and grand theft. Both have since been released.
