Santee Crime Report: Juvenile Incidents Up

The following information was provided by the Santee Sheriff's Department and CrimeMapping.com mainly for May 16 to May 22. The defendants have not been convicted of a crime.

Santee Patch has started publishing a , a less detailed list of alleged Santee offenders, the Weekly Report focuses on incidents of interest with detailed reports.

Incidents of interest:

• A 77-year-old woman reported her bag was snatched in a strong-arm robbery in the 9700 block of Mission Gorge Road on the afternoon of May 19. The victim reported the loss of the bag, valued at $15. She sustained a minor injury in the incident. No suspect information was listed.

• Three people were arrested on suspicion of felony possession of durgs for sale in the 10000 block of Mast Boulevard on the morning of May 19. In addition, Robert Tharp, 35, and Anthony Richardson, 22, were booked into the County Jail in downtown San Diego on conspiracy, and possession of controlled substances, all felonies. Celina Martinez, 33, was booked on the same allegations into the women's jail in Santee.

• Deputies arrested two women and a man on felony drug allegations after contacting them in the 10000 block of Mast Boulevard on the afternoon of May 19.  Jeffrey Miler, 29, was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego on suspicion of possessing controlled substances, and misdemeanor possession of hypodermics and drug paraphernalia. Adrianne Caprio, 23, and Melissa Tartaglia, 22, were booked into the  Las Colinas women's jail in Santee on felony drug possession. Tartaglia faces an additional allegation of possessing hypodermics.

• Shawnee Pichitino, 18, was arrested on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant after being contacted in the 9700 block of Missin Gorge Road during the early morning hours of May 20. She was booked into the Las Colinas women's jail in Santee. The nature of the warrant was not detailed in the report.

• Deputies arrested a juvenile on suspicion of being drunk in public and a curfew violation shortly after midnight on May 22. The juvenile's name was withheld.

• Kelli Cannon, 20, was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant after being contacted by a deputy in the 9300 block of Carlton Oaks Drive on the morning of May 22. She was booked into Las Colinas women's jail in Santee.

• Steven Shay, 22, was arrested on suspicion of felony drug possession at North Magnolia Avenue and Del Coronado lane on the afternoon of May 21. He was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego.

• Anthony Laragione, 46,, was arrested on suspicion of felony drug possession following a traffic stop in the 100 block of Town Center Parkway on the evening of May 19. He was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego.

• Two juveniles were detained after a fight was reported at Woodglen Vista Drive and North Magnolia Avenue on the afternoon of May 18. The suspects were detained on suspicion of disorderly contact, a misdemeanor, after being found at two separate locations a short time later. The matter is being handled within the department, according to a report.

• The Big Rock Barber Shop in the 8000 block of Mission Gorge Road reported an armed robbery on the morning of May 18, according to a report. The suspect's description was not detailed in the report. No injuries were reported.

• Auto parts valued at $65 were reported stolen from the store in the 200 block of Town Center Parkway on the evening of May 17. No suspect information was listed.

• Two minors were detained on North Magnolia Avenue after it was reported they were in possession of marijuana or or near school grounds They were detained briefly and the matter is being handled within the department, according to a report.

• A juvenile was arrested following a battery complaint by 40-year-old man in the 9600 block of Mac Cool Lane on the morning of May 18. The victim sustained a minor injury and the unnamed suspect was booked into Juvenile Hall on suspicion of a misdemeanor.

• Jared Smith 22, was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting at the in the 100 block of Town Center Parkway on the evening of May 17. He was cited and released, according to a report. Music equipment and other items valued at $188 were recovered in the case.

• A juvenile was arrested following a battery report filed at a school in the 9900 block of North Magnolia Avenue on the afternoon of May 17. The victim, who was not identified, sustained a minor injury in the incident. The juvenile suspect was detained following the incident  and the matter is being handled within the department, according to a report.

• A 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of felony assault on the morning of May 17. The victim was not injured in the incident, according to a report. David Talley was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego on suspicion of felony vandalism, in addition to felony assault with a deadly weapon. A vehicle was reportedly vandalized during the incident.

• Gary Corgin, 34, was arrested on suspicion of felony elder abuse after deputy's performed a welfare check on an 86-year-old woman in the 10200 block of Mission Gorge Road on the morning of May 17. In addition, he was booked into the County Jail in downtown San Diego on misdemeanor suspicion of obstructing the use of a wireless device. No injuries were reported.

• , 9600 block of Jeremy street, reported a lock damaged in an apparent burglary attempt on the evening of May 16. No suspect information was listed.

• A stolen vehicle was recovered in the 8000 block of Mission Gorge Road on the afternoon of May 16. The blue, four-door sedan, was reported stolen by a 49-year-old man in another jurisdiction, according to a report.

• Afton Harris, 24, was arrested following a battery complaint in the 10100 block of Palm Glen Drive at 12:30 a.m. The victim sustained a minor injury. Harris was booked on the misdemeanor into the Las Colinas women's jail.

• Two men were arrested after a battery complaint on the evening of May 15 in the 9700 block of Mission Gorge Road. Scott Page,  22, was arrested on felony conspiracy and violating parole, in addition to misdemeanor battery and being drunk in public. Thomas Mears, 24, was arrested on suspicion of battery on a peace officer, in addition to conspiracy, battery and suspicion of being drunk in public. No serious injuries were reported.

• Donna Rueger, 47, was arrested following a battery complaint in the 9200 block of Mission Gorge Road on the afternoon of May 15. The victim sustained a minor injury, according to a report.

• A juvenile was arrested on suspicion of battery in the 9700 block of Roe Drive on the afternoon of May 14. A 38-year-old woman sustained a minor injury during the incident. The juvenile, whose name was not released, was booked into Juvenile Hall after being arrested on Lake Country Drive, and booked on suspicion of resisting arrest, battery and possessing a switch-blade knife.

• Two juveniles were detained near Santana High School in the 9900 block of North Magnolia Avenue on the afternoon of May 12. One of the juveniles allegedly possessed a weapon at school, while the other was suspected of possessing smoking paraphernalia. The weapon was not detailed in the summary report and the matter is being handled within the department.

• Christopher Deal, 24, was cited following a traffic accident in the 8600 block of Graves Avenue during the early morning hours of April 14. He was issued the misdemeanor citation on Grossmont Center Drive in La Mesa suspicion of drunken driving and driving on a suspended license due to a prior DUI.

• Tiffany Schmidt, 40, was cited on suspicion of trespassing at 10700 Valor Place on the morning of May 15.

• Samantha Sanchez, 25, was cited on suspicion of shoplifting at the in the 200 block of Town Center Parkway on the afternoon of May 11. Clothes valued at $50 were reportedly recovered in the case.

Vehicle thefts reported value ranging from $1,000 to $15,000:

  • 10000 block of Leavesly on the afternoon of May 21. Vehicle described as red, two-door sedan.
  • 10400 block of north Magnolia Avenue on the afternoon of May 18. Vehicle described as silver SUV.
  • 10700 block of Len Street on the morning of May 18. Vehicle described as a white, two-door sedan.
  • 8600 block of Cuyamaca Street on the morning of May 17. Truck and trailer reported stolen by Crossman Landscape. The company also reported being burglarized, putting the loss of garden equipment at $17,000.

Residential burglaries or grand thefts from buildings classified as felonies with items stolen valued from $1,930 to $4180:

  • 10100 block of Mission Gorge Road on the morning of May 16.
  • 9800 block of Settle Road on the afternoon of May 9.
