Santee Crime Report: Thrift Store Thefts

The following information was provided by the Santee Sheriff's Department and CrimeMapping.com for Feb. 14-21. The defendants have not been convicted of a crime.

Major Incidents

• Patricia Cervantes-Neria, 45, was cited on suspicion of petty theft after being detained at the store at 8800 Cuyamaca Street on the afternoon of Feb. 11, according to a report at the of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. A shirt valued at $12.50 was recovered.

• Two men were arrested on drug allegations after being stopped at Woodglen Vista Drive and Lairwood Drive on the morning of Feb. 17.

Richard Tufts, 50, was booked into the County Jail in downtown San Diego on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. Jack Tufts, 22, was booked at the same location on the same allegation, plus an additional count of possessing controlled substance paraphernalia.

• A $700 pistol was reported stolen from a vehicle near Buena Vista Avenue at Blue Boy Lane, according to a report. The  26-year-old victim told authorities he noticed the firearm missing on Jan. 23. He notified authorities on Feb. 17, according to the report.

• A vehicle was reported vandalized in the 9000 block of Magnolia Avenue shortly after 5 a.m. on Feb. 18. The 21-year-old victim reported damage to a gray convertible in the case. The damage was less than $400, according to the report. No suspect information was listed.

• A residence was reported burglarized in the 10000 block of Strathmore Drive on the afternoon of Feb. 18. The victims reported the theft of a TV, firearms, video games and electronic notebooks with a total value of $7,500 in the case. No suspect information was listed.

• , 10200 Mast Boulevard, reported being defrauded out of $350 worth of hair care products on the afternoon of Feb. 18. No further details were included in the summary report.

• Anthony Badelbou, 26, was turned over to another law enforcement agency following his arrested at , 9800 block of Mission Gorge Road, on the evening of Feb. 18. Authorities recovered a DVD player valued at $103.86, according to a report.

• Televisions and other items were reported stolen from a home in the 8700 block of Lind Vert Court on the afternoon of Feb. 19. The 41-year-old victim valued the four stolen TVs at $11,900. No suspect information was included in the report.

• Two people were arrested on suspicion of shoplifting at the , 9800 Mission Gorge Road, on the evening of Feb. 19, according to a report. The suspects face felony allegations in the case. Both Steven Gonzalez, 29, and Crystal Gonzalez, were booked into county jail facilities and authorities recovered clothing, electronic equipment and others goods valued at more than $600.

• A 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting at the Goodwill store at 9575 Mission Gorge Road on the afternoon of Feb. 20. Neil Naffa, was booked into the County Jail in downtown San Diego on a felony allegation because of a reported prior conviction. Miscellaneous clothing valued at $22 was recovered in the case.

• Thomas Brown, 60, was arrested at the Target, 9800 block of Mission Gorge Road, on the afternoon of Feb. 21 on suspicion of shoplifting  and an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. A backpack valued at $59.99 was recovered in the case. He was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego.

• An unidentified minor was detained on suspicion of possessing smoking paraphernalia around noon on Feb. 16. The juvenile was detained in the 9900 block of north Magnolia Avenue, according to a report.

• Two people were detained on drug allegations following a traffic stop at Mission Creek Drive and Willow Pond Road on the afternoon of Feb. 16.

Stephen Chasteen II, 21, was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance, and violating terms of a felony bail release. Sandra Hardwick, 42, was cited on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance without a prescription before being released.

• Michael Wiseman, 40, was arrested following a traffic stop  at 10200 Mast Boulevard on the morning of Feb. 17. In addition to an outstanding warrant, deputies booked him on suspicion of driving with a  license suspended because of a DUI, and an unlawful display of registration information, both misdemeanors. He was taken to the County Jail in downtown San Diego following his arrest, according to a report.

• An unidentified juvenile was detained following a battery report in the 9900 block of north Magnolia Avenue on the afternoon of Feb. 3. The juvenile's name was withheld. The arrested party was accused of battery on a person on a public property. The victim's identity and age were withheld in the report, which was not made public until Feb. 17.

• A 62-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving with injury, a felony, in the 9600 block of Carlton Hills Boulevard on the evening of Feb. 12.  Jillian Reitz was booked into jail on two felonies, in connection with the incident. No further information was included in report.

• A four-door sedan was reported stolen by a 75-year-old man in the 8500 block of Atlas View Drive during the morning of Feb. 15. The vehicle, gray in color, was last seen around 7:30 a.m., according to a report. It was valued at $7,000. No suspect information was included in the report.

• A 33-year-old man was arrested on the evening of Feb. 16 on suspicion of violating a restraining order. Robb Mangels was booked in the County Jail in downtown San Diego after his arrest on Valor Place, according to a report.

• Israel Standingwarrior, 39, was arrested  on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance the evening of Feb. 12 at the intersection of Riverwalk Parkway and Mission Gorge Road. He was also detained on suspicion of being intoxicated in public.

• A 19-year-old woman was arrested at in the 9400 block of Misson Gorge Road on suspicion of shoplifting on the afternoon of Feb. 13. Heather Lyons was cited on the misdemeanor allegation before being released, according to the report.

• Three juveniles were arrested in on the afternoon of Feb. 13 on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol, according to a report. Their names and ages were not included in the report. One of them faces an additional allegation of resisting arrest. All three were also detained for being minors in possession of alcohol.

• California Craft & Marble reported the theft of tools from a vehicle in the 9300 block of Abraham Way on the morning of Feb. 14. The power and hand tools were valued at $1,850, according to a report. No suspect information was listed.

• Audio and video equipment was stolen from the during a burglary discovered the morning of Feb. 14 in the 10400 block of Chubb Lane, according to a report. The A/V gear, valued at $4,800, was last seen on Feb. 8 and discovered missing on the morning of Feb. 14, according to a report. No suspect information was given.

• in the 7700 block of Mission Gorge Road was targeted by
vandals on Feb. 14, according to a report. The business reported damage to a camera, fixtures and a storage structure with a total value of $722. No suspect information was listed.

• A 48-year-old woman was arrested following a report of a "suspicious person" in the 8800 block of Cuyamaca Street on the evening of Feb. 11.

Kathleen Jones was booked into the on suspicion of being under the influecne of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. Her arrest was without incident, according to a report .

• A pickup was reported damaged in a fire on the evening of Feb. 14 in the 8700 block of Lindvern Court. The owner was not identified in the report by deputies, who responded to provide assistance at the scene. Damage to the white vehicle was set at $5,000. Cause of the fire was not included in the report.

• A SUV was reported vandalized in the 9500 block of Corey Court on the afternoon of  Feb . 14. The actual incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. the night before, according to the 52-year-old victim. The vehicle was valued at $2,500. No suspect information was listed.
