Santee Motorcyclist Dies in Crash Near Alpine Over the Weekend

The 61-year-old victim lost control of the bike Saturday.

A motorcyclist from Santee who lost control of his vehicle died Saturday when it hit a freeway center divider.

The solo crash happened at 12:36 p.m. on westbound Interstate 8, east of Willows Road.

The decedent was a married 61 year old male who lived with his wife in a home in Santee, according to the Medical Examiner's Office (ME).

For unknown reasons, he lost control of the bike and was thrown to the ground, according to the ME. 9-1-1 was called and he was  flown to Sharp Memorial Hospital where his death was pronounced shortly after arrival.
