Suspected Accomplice in Failed Bank Heist Jailed at Las Colinas

A robbery suspect shot by a security guard during a failed bank heist in University City was recovering in a trauma center today, while an alleged accomplice was in custody at a women's jail in Santee.

Casey Allen Wilson, 27, suffered gunshot wounds to the back and face during the failed robbery attempt at a Wells Fargo office in the 8400 block of Genesee Avenue late Tuesday afternoon, according to San Diego police.

After the security officer opened fire on him at about 5 p.m., Wilson ran out of the bank and got into a bluish-green Honda sedan driven by an accessory, who sped off, SDPD Detective Gary Hassen said. The getaway driver dropped the wounded suspect off at Sharp Memorial Hospital in Serra Mesa and then fled.
