Trolley Collides With Pedestrian, Disrupts Service in Santee

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital, and service has been restored.

A trolley collided with a pedestrian, disrupting service in Santee Wednesday afternoon, according to the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS).

The pedestrian was struck at 1:57 p.m. and was transported to a Sharp Memorial Hospital afterwards. No details about the extent of injuries has been reported.

The trolley came to a stop in the area of Cuyamaca Street and Prospect Avenue, according to reports from the scene.

An MTS spokesperson said brakes were applied to the trolley, but the collision was unavoidable.
