Woman Accused of Slaying West Hills High Student to Be Arraigned

Regina Renee Johnson is accused in the deaths of Reuben and Aaliyah Johnson.

A San Carlos woman her husband and 14-year-old daughter in their condominium and staying with the bodies for three days before reporting the deaths is scheduled to be arraigned at the San Diego County Courthouse Wednesday on murder charges.

Regina Renee Johnson, 55, is accused in last week's slaying of 56-year-old Reuben Johnson and Aaliyah Johnson, a freshman at . Both were shot in the head, and Reuben Johnson also had a gunshot wound to the torso, according to the Medical Examiner's Office.

The slayings are believed to have been committed Wednesday. But Regina Johnson, who was reported to have lost her financial services job recently, was not arrested until Saturday, after she reported the deaths to a friend in Washington state who, in turn, contacted authorities.

Reuben Johnson, who served 20 years in the Navy before retiring in 2009, had been working as a security guard, according to his sister.

No motive has been revealed for the slayings. Investigators said there were no previous reports of violence in the Johnson family, and Regina Johnson had no criminal record.
