Assemblyman Jones Upset at Taxpayer Dollars Spent on Union Labor Rallies, AKA 'Big Parties'

Santee's Assemblyman Brian Jones continues with his "Are You Kidding Me!" video series, explaining the frustrations of Sacramento to his constituents.

The office of Santee's State Assemblyman Brian Jones (R-71) released another one-minute online video of the representative speaking about specific topics dealt with (or not) in Sacramento that drive him crazy.

In this video Jones reacts to the party atmosphere of public sector labor rallies held at the State Capitol.

"Taxpayer dollars being spent throwing big parties during working hours- are you kidding me!" said Jones.

Jones acknowledges that the First Amendment of the Constitution gives people the right to peacefully protest, but he questions the atmosphere and timing of the rallies during work hours.

“What if I told you that several times a year, during the work week, government labor unions hold rallies at the State Capitol? There’s a lot of dancing, eating, even face painting!" said Jones.

"And in-between all of the festivities, union employees swarm the Capitol to fight for a bigger slice of the pie.  If you think about it, the unions are spending taxpayer dollars to hold these parties.  Taxpayers pay the government; the government pays the government worker, and the government worker pays the union.”

COMMENT: What do you think, are public sector labor rallies an expression of rights, or over the top?
