• The council will hear from the public and leaders of community service organizations about how they should divvy up federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to local public service projects such as the Santee Food Bank and Santee Santas.

The available 2013 CDBG funds are expected to be $242,946, a reduction of about $26,000 from last year; and only $66,524 may be allocated to the organizations.

"The funds get smaller and smaller every year," Mayor Randy Voepel said last year.

A substantial portion of the CDBG funds will also be used to improve Buena Vista and Railroad Avenues.

No funding decisions will be made at this meeting and another public hearing on this matter will occur at the next council meeting.
