Coming Soon: Obamacare in California

Americans will be required to obtain health insurance, or face a penalty, beginning in 2014.

The Sacramento Bee reported that California has received conditional approval from the Obama administration Thursday to begin subsidized health care. The state plans to commence subscriptions in October.

"Covered California" hopes to service the large population of state residents who are eligible for federal subsidies for health coverage next year. Americans will be required to obtain insurance beginning in 2014.

California has qualified for $237 million in federal grants to date to build the infrastructure of its marketplace, according to the Bee.

The grants pays for an IT system, which enrolls subscribers statewide, and marketing efforts and staff to operate the program.

Federal officials see California as a key state in the program. With the highest population, the state has unique language and cultural barriers among its uninsured population.

Currently, the federal government has approved "health exchanges" in 19 states and Washington, D.C.

Technically, you can't opt out. If the Státe itself opt"s out, then the Federal Governmemt steps in and implements the ACA. As an example, Texas has opted out, so they won't pay to setup anything to meet ACA requirements. Under the Law then the Feds step in and set it all up in the Státe. Which is the smart way to do it. So, the Státe doesn't incur the cost by having to setup all of the need requirements to meet the ACA, the Feds do. Calif wanting to be a leader went ahead, even though the Státe is broke, and implemented the ACA, hoping that the Feds will reimburse them...yeah like that's going to happen.

Here's the really sad thing. It's estimated that a single person will have to pay about $1300 yr for healthcare under the ACA. The penalty for not having it is $94.00 and under the ACA they are still required to treat you. If the Supreme Court allows Companies, Organizations, and Individuals to opt out under the 1st Amendment, then rated will sky rocket, because the number of people who they were counting on being covered are just not there anymore...

The bosses are screaming cost and some Wendys francihizes are all ready cutting hours for minimum wage employees to 28 so they won't have to furnish insurance. In the terms of our beloved mitt they are " being harvested " their wages being reduced 25 %. I will never eat there again ! Corporate is saying it is the individual owner, But remember New Years and the corp's, Mickey D's sent the owners a letter requesting they stay open and pay straight wages. These corporations have no soul, Just a wallet !
