Other facts

The following was submitted by Elana Levens-Craig

For 20 years I have dedicated myself to public education. I earned my Master's Degree in Education and taught in the Santee School District, where my children attended school.

Locally, I chaired a school bond oversight committee, served on a school site council and I continue to volunteer at the local and state levels of PTA. In 2011, SDCSBA awarded me the Parent Volunteer of the Year Award, representing all 42 San Diego County school districts. My presence on campus has given me a first-hand understanding of what students need.

To provide our students with a quality education despite California's financial crisis, I will make attracting and retaining exceptional teachers a priority, while providing for innovative technology and modern facilities for our students. With this vision, we can create a world-class education and a strong community partnership.

As a business owner and member, I am committed to fiscal accountability and transparency. I will provide critical oversight of Santee School District spending. We need collaboration, cooperation and strong leadership to advocate for the District's children and families. My extensive experience uniquely qualifies me to serve you as a Santee School Board member.

Can't send messages to Dad because he's now deceased, but my dad was very wise...He'd say thingsRead More like: "You can get arrested for what you say, but not what you think!" - or - "Take care of your feet, and they'll take care of you!" My dad wasn't much for words, but he was always a stable figure growing up and was loyal to mom throughout the years. Nowadays, that in and of itself is honorable! Thank you Dad! In Loving Memory...
