Flagpole Installation Overlooked at Edgemoor Nursing Facility
Most government buildings feature a flagpole, but County Supervisor Bill Horn has pointed out that recently built County buildings have been built without them.
Installation of flagpoles at recently completed County buildings was overlooked, prompting a supervisor to propose a new policy requiring that they be included in future construction projects.
Government buildings, from to schools to courthouses, traditionally fly the national and state flags. The county has a policy to fly flags during business hours, but not that flagpoles be installed, according to the office of , chairman of the Board of Supervisors.
Flagpoles were omitted from the plans for libraries in Bonita, Cardiff by the Sea, Fallbrook and Rancho San Diego, and the remodeled in Santee, according Horn's office. All were built in the last few years.

He placed the issue on the agenda for Tuesday's supervisors meeting. His proposal includes the expenditure of $4,700 to install a flagpole at the Fallbrook Library, augmenting $7,300 already raised in the community.
