New Sheriff's Captain Coming to Santee; Musgrove Moving On

After two years at the helm of the Santee station, Capt. Ed Musgrove takes new assignment.

It was recently announced that Capt.  will be leaving the after two years of leading local law enforcement, essentially acting as Santee's chief of police.

The sheriff and Santee city manager have selected Capt. Lisa Miller as the station commander for the Santee/Lakeside command, effective Sept. 7. Miller has previously served as captain of the Imperial Beach station.

"My two years at the helm of the command have been very rewarding and I am a better person for the experience," stated Musgrove.

"I have made many friends in East County and look forward to sharing time with them in the years to come."

He came to Santee to take charge of the Sheriff's Station the Summer of 2010 after a career mostly spent in North County, and has kept things running smoothly since.

“. Not nearly as much as I’m told there used to be,” he told Doug Curlee in .

"By and large, Musgrove says the  police administrators and operators in the rest of the county don’t really have a foothold in Santee."
