Californians have been hit hard, at home with layoffs and eliminated COLAs, reduced fire and police protection, larger class sizes, higher tuition, higher taxes, elected officials' corruption scandals and mounting budget deficits. I can and will overcome these challenges as an ethical leader by rolling up our sleeves and working hard like we always have.

When our shores were challenged in the 1940s Californians helped pull the entire nation out of a depression through sheer will and determination, building the finest military hardware and technology the world had ever known. We will harness that same enthusiasm to overcome today's challenges. They said we couldn't produce enough airplanes, ships, and technology in time to meet the challenge in Europe and the Pacific, but we did the work ahead of schedule and sparked the greatest economic expansion in world history.

Our modern challenges are jobs, water, and fuel. I am an executive at a successful sustainability nonprofit, where brainstorming and partnerships with businesses help meet those challenges. I will be your advocate for the heart and engine of our middle-class wealth creators, the small business owner. We will do this through the private sector, without raising taxes. I will create middle class jobs, save homeowners money on utility bills, create a cleaner environment, add money to our treasury, and homes will be energy efficient and ready for solar, creating even more higher paying jobs that cannot be outsourced.
