Poll: Is the Tea Party Over? Pundits Say This Conservative Crusade Is Dead

Lone disciples such as Gilbert Cope of Carlsbad may differ, but influence may be on the wane.

Is the Tea Party dead?  That’s the topic of conversation on political websites and blogs in the wake of recent setbacks to Tea Party candidates and elected officials, including the recall vote targeting Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker.  No doubt Tea Party disciples still keep the faith—including Gilbert “Hustusa” Cope, the Carlsbad resident of “I didn’t vote for this Obamanation” fame. But is the party over for national political influence?

The race will surely show if the TP is dead. Moderate Democrats are getting nervous about Obama's performance. This could be a reflection of the attitude of the independent voter, which will make the difference,.

Doug, I do believe the experts you refer to are Democratic strategist. Do you think they will ask Obama to come Indiana and stump for the young man?
Doug Curlee May 09, 2012 at 05:20 PM
they possibly will..and no, the experts are NOT all democrats..there are people in the republican party in indiana who are nervous about the race.. it's one thing to defeat an 80-year-old, six-term senator who doesn't even live in the state anymore, and who ran a terrible race.. it's quite another to defeat a popular younger congressman who'll be able to tap a lot of democrat money for the campaign..able because that seat will be very important for democrats looking to retain control of the senate.. it'll be an inteersting race to watch, for sure.. doug

Hey remember when the Tea Party vandalized several blocks of Downtown Los Angeles then attacked the police with bottles and rocks who had to go to "citywide tactical alert" and oh yeah made a bunch of effete yuppies cry because their Art Walk was spoiled? http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=news/local/los_angeles&id=8734962 I don't.
