I would like to thank Mayor Randy Voepel and all of the City Council from the bottom of my heart for voting down the rent increase for Cameron’s Mobile Estates and previously *my* park - Meadowbrook Estates. I don’t know why mobile home park owners think that the *ground* we rent is worth SO much money per month. I bought and paid for the mobile home I live in, and if the rents were raised by any substantial amount it isn’t like I can just pick up and move. These mobile home park owners are making a LOT of $ and yet they want more and more! My park has approximately 330 spaces with rent at appx. $7I5 = $235,950 PER MONTH! That's not enough for them? I applaud the City Council for protecting seniors living on fixed incomes in mobile home parks against these money hungry mongrels. I am so glad I moved to Santee!
